Barbara Westbrook, a native of Lynchburg, Virginia, launched her own firm in Atlanta after working for Nancy Braithwaite and Gandy-Peace. Her extensive background in traditional, transitional and contemporary design yields interiors that range from casual American to formal English and French moderne. Recent projects include large residential renovations, mountain, lake and beach houses, spas, professional offices and commercial spaces.
Westbrook Interiors is an interior design firm that specializes in high-end residential and commercial projects. The designers work closely with each client and architect to prepare and provide a design package that relates to the architecture and reflects the clients’ dreams for their home. When our firm is hired at the beginning of a project, we are typically involved in every aspect of the design process. Prior to making any selections, we assist in identifying the client’s style, editing that style, and introducing the client to options they may not have originally considered. After establishing the overall atmosphere of the home or office, we begin to focus on more specific selections. Our services include selection and specification of finishes and materials for everything from walls, floors, ceiling, and countertops to bathroom and kitchen fixtures. In addition, we can provide cabinetry and custom furniture drawings as well as lighting and electrical plans. If the architect provides these services instead, we are pleased to offer any requisite consultation to insure that the design process moves smoothly.
While assisting the architect and the builder with any necessary specifications, we begin the selection, placement, and design of furniture, fabrics, faux finishes, wallcoverings, area rugs, decorative lighting, and window treatments. The artwork and accessories are then layered over the furniture and window treatments. Our firm oversees the coordination and installation of any and all of the above items as well as the client’s existing furniture.
Westbrook Interiors designs have appeared in Metropolitan Home, Southern Accents, Atlanta Homes, Home and Architectural Trends, Better Homes and Gardens, and Florida Design and will soon be published in House Beautiful.
